Outdoor classroom day

The day turned out to be beautiful and sunny.  Starting off were the Grade RR and Rs who enjoyed reading,writing and playing a few games in the fresh air.  Next up were  the Grade 1s and 3s who couldn't contain all the excitement of learning in such a fun environment. Ms Sakhile 's class Grade 1A's had a quiet time listening to a story in the cool breeze while Grade 1C's learnt what it was like to write a test outdoors on whiteboards without chairs,desks or shelters to assist them. Grade 1D's sat in the sun chasing shadows learning a  shadow drawing technique while the Grade 3 's were seen quietly relaxing with nature drawing their surroundings.  

 

Senior phase learners experienced classroom teaching outdoors aided by mother nature's elements having to listen to their lessons, focus while sitting on the ground and write in their books using their laps as tables. 

 

While this day turned out to be a fantastic experience for our learners we need to think of our fellow students across Africa and globally whose daily learning experience consists of the outdoors throughout the year in all weather conditions.
