At the end of Term 3 the professional eye care team from EyeWorx, headed by Jaime Jacobson, came to do eye tests at CityKidz, and a long line of children from all grades kept our favourite team of optometrists very busy an entire day and an additional morning.
The EyeWorx team returned on Wednesday with 49 prescription glasses for our learners and next week they will deliver the balance of 14 more prescription glasses. Not only do our learners look really smart in their new specs but their lives have undoubtedly been dramatically improved. They will all be able to see clearly and their vision in class will improve.

Once again we were fortunate to receive several boxes of books from ABCA ( Australian Books for Children of Africa).
Lauren Klevansky donated the children’s books on behalf of ABCA to CityKidz last week. We value and encourage independent reading and every Foundation Phase class now has a reading corner with a carpet and bookshelf. We wish to turn some of our reluctant readers into budding bookworms and the only way we can improve our reading corners is to provide a variety of books that appeals to all our children. The fabulous books were distributed to the different grades so they can relax and spend time reading.
