Valentine's Day

The day began with learners dressed in a colourful array of clothing in all shades of red and pink with touches of white and denim coming through the gates.

There was an excited buzz in the air. Everyone admired their friends’ outfits. There was a clamour to buy raffle tickets as the draw came nearer. The giant white teddy was coveted by many but only one lucky winner would go home with the prize! The dance session in the hall was thoroughly enjoyed by all and the festive air was very exciting. The karaoke performances were stirring and everyone participated with great enjoyment and enthusiasm. If only they would learn their school work as accurately as they sang the lyrics of the songs!

The holiday atmosphere continued throughout the day. Although lessons were taking place, there was a relaxed feeling and the cool weather was most pleasant. In the end, a Grade 1 learner won the big teddy, which was almost the same size as him! His smile was dazzling.

The day was a huge success and everyone, learners and teachers, had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.
