Beauty, the Beast and the Enchanted Castle
As the lights dimmed, excitement rippled through the theatre. The CityKidz audience leaned forward in anticipation and the show began with a dazzling opening dance number, featuring bright costumes and energetic choreography. Beauty, the Beast and the Enchanted Castle dazzled us with a spectacular mix of heartfelt moments, colourful characters and plenty of humorous shenanigans. Belle, a clever and independent young woman, finds herself drawn into a mysterious world inside the enchanted castle of a cursed Prince Bastion who was transformed into The Beast. Mama'Ama'Bali, dressed in extravagant costumes, narrated the story, delivering puns and cheeky jokes with perfect timing.
Gaviscon and What the Heck Sisters had everyone laughing out loud. Hecate, the wicked witch, tried desperately to thwart Belle and the Beast's budding romance. Learners shouted warnings to Belle and laughter echoed through the theatre during the inevitable "Oh no, he isn’t!" moments. The set and special effects added a layer of enchantment with the enchanted castle adorned with shimmering lights Magical sing-along moments had everyone feeling part of the show. By the time the final curtain fell, the audience was filled with smiles and applause. The enchanting Beauty, Prince Bastion, Mama Ama’Bali and all the other characters will remain in our hearts for a long while. What part of the pantomime magic enchanted you the most?
