Grade 1 Trip

On 07 May 2026 the Grade 1 learners embarked on an educational and enjoyable trip to Gold Reef City. Despite the chilly weather, the learners showed great resilience and enthusiasm, bracing the cold to fully participate in and enjoy the day’s activities.

The learners were delighted to experience several new rides that were not present during our previous visits. A particular highlight was the uphill car ride, where the car was pulled to the top before descending at high speed, which elicited much excitement. Other attractions enjoyed included the Teacup, Shongolo (Caterpillar) Elephant ride, Bumper Cars, and Horse ride and many more. Each ride was met with joy and laughter, and the learners demonstrated excellent patience while queuing.

Beyond recreation, the excursion provided a valuable learning opportunity aligned with our upcoming Life Skills topic on Safety. Learners were guided on the importance of buckling up securely before rides and using the zebra crossing correctly when moving around the park. They applied these safety practices throughout the day with great responsibility. The day concluded with a nutritious lunch and a cool drink which the learners enjoyed together before boarding the bus for the return journey to school.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the principal, parents, and organisers who contributed to making the trip safe and memorable for the Grade 1 learners. The experience was both enriching and fun, and it reinforced important safety lessons in a practical setting. Kind regards,  Grade 1 team.
