Our Grade 5 learners enjoyed an unforgettable outing to Lesedi Cultural Village.
Nestled in the scenic Magaliesberg hills of the North West Province, Lesedi Cultural Village offers an engaging experience of the traditions and heritage of South Africa’s diverse cultural groups. The day began with a high-energy drumming session. Our learners quickly mastered the beats and rhythms under the guidance of talented instructors and the sound of their drumming filled the air with excitement. One of the highlights of the trip was the lively cultural performance.
Colourful costumes, powerful drumbeats, and spirited dancing lit up the stage. A few of our learners joined in on the fun, much to the delight of the audience. During the guided tour, learners explored the authentic homesteads of the Zulu, Xhosa, Basotho, and Pedi tribes. Our learners were able to gain insight into the customs, daily life, and unique architecture of these communities, deepening their understanding of South Africa’s rich cultural heritage.
A hearty traditional lunch of pap, chakalaka and boerewors was served and all too soon it was time to go home. Our Grade 5s returned to school with full tummies, big smiles, and a renewed appreciation for the vibrant cultures that make up our beautiful country.
