On 19th September, CityKidz welcomed four schools to the 2nd Interschool Quiz Competition. Learners had been swotting for weeks to showcase their knowledge.
After explanation of the rules, Quiz Questioners kicked off with a warm-up round which helped settle everyone’s nerves. Thereafter they covered a wide range of topics: Lucky Dip, Pop Culture, History, Science, Sports, Current Affairs, and Eish… Yebo, Yes, a category for South African Trivia.
Quiz pairs, arranged in grades, demonstrated critical thinking, impressive memory skills and confidence when answering. The General Knowledge Quiz not only challenged the intellect of learners but also encouraged teamwork, time management and healthy competition. Finally, the last question was asked. Music was played to calm the tense atmosphere because everyone's nerves were on edge. All eyes were on the scorers. Ma’am Cindy delivered the final scores. It was anyone’s guess as to who would walk away with the 1st prize. After a nail-biting wait, the scores were announced to a loud congratulatory spirit from participants and audience.

Congratulations to Holy Family Convent on taking the cup. It was a well-deserved win CityKidz were just pipped at the post by ONE point.
Congratulations also to all the participants who impressed the judges with their dynamic engagement in the quiz as well the spirit of camaraderie between different schools. CityKidz hopes that this fun, educational experience will leave a lasting impression on all.
