On Friday 22 April CityKidz hosted a talk on sexuality for our Grade 7 learners. Our guest speakers were Monique de Leon, Mr Thabo Mothami and Mr Tisetso Nkonde.
Monique, who hails from Southern California, is a worship leader, author, singer and speaker. She spoke to our learners about the importance of maintaining values and the blessings and benefits of purity. She also wowed the learners with her beautiful songs.
Mr Thabo Mothami also spoke of peer pressure and the importance of achieving goals. Mr Mothami is a coordinator for Community Media Trust (CMT) and does peak skills training and development. He is also the founder of HELP and Touch A Life. Mr Tisetso Nkonde known as Mr Esthupheni is the founder of Esthupheni production. Mr Tisetso Nkonde spoke to our learners regarding the necessity of understanding oneself and one’s sexual identity and also about understanding others.
The tone of the talks were serious while being upbeat and engaging. Our learners enjoyed the occasion and will most definitely remember the important and positive messages relayed by our guests.
