On Thursday 1st September the grade 7’s were very excited to attend the Jozi Book Fair at Wits University. The children attended different workshops, watched a theatrical presentation and were able to meet and talk to various South African authors.
These included Zakes Mda, Ronnie Govender & Keorapetse Kgosistile...
The theme was “Youth Rising” looking at the role that young people can play in society and the hope they carry.
The children received a substantial packed lunch, a t-shirt and two books each. Subsequently, it has been great to see the grade 7 reading and discussing these books enthusiastically in class.
We all enjoyed the exposure and the experience very much!
