Konka 2019

Our Konka journey started with 51 very excited Grade 7 learners packing their bags into the trailer and hopping into the bus. The bus had not even started moving yet and majority of the learners had started eating their delicious snacks that were packed for them by their parents. After about two hours of travelling, we drove through the Konka gates and the excitement elevated drastically. It was not long after that, the learners jumped off the bus and were shown to their dormitories. They were all so excited to be sharing a sleeping spot with their friends. Most of the girls decided that sleeping on the top of the bunk was the best bet as they were then out of reach from the elusive leopard. The learners were introduced to their facilitators who instructed them to get changed into their swimming attire. The learners went for a swim to cool down before all the fun started. The rest of the day had games and wall climbing installed for them. They ended off the day with a delicious wholesome meal and tuck shop time. Day 2 started with some leadership activities which was followed by a scrumptious breakfast in the dining hall. The highlight of the day was most definitely the obstacle course which saw some of our learners really getting “down and dirty”. Our day ended off with some fun games and a fantastic dinner. What an experience this has been for both our teachers and learners.

Thanks to Miss da Costa and Mr Mlotshwa for accompanying our children. You guys rock!
