Soccer at Covenant College

Soccer at Covenant College

It was quite a remarkable day and a good experience for the young learners. It gave them the opportunity to practise their soccer skills and provided them with exposure to competitive play. Initially the Grade 3 team seemed a bit nervous, but gradually adjusted and improved their performance. The Grade 1’s played very well but one of our players scored an on-goal and celebrated without realizing that he had scored for the opposite team. That error resulted in a draw.

Grade 2’s displayed a wonderful performance as they drew one game; one was forfeited because of moving from one field to another and then they won the rest of their games. They scored spectacular goals in each game and hats off to Siphamandla who managed to score in each game they played. They brought home a GOLD MEDAL!

The learners enjoyed the competitions and gained a great deal of experience. They will be able to perform much better after the experience they gained yesterday. We hope the Intersen Phase can also have the same exposure in both disciplines to help them improve their performance at cluster level.

Thanks again to Covenant College and SACCSA for giving us the opportunity to participate in the tournament.
