Spelling Bee 2016

On Wednesday 18th May CityKidz held its THIRD Spelling Bee Competition. The competition took place in our Hall and the atmosphere was ‘buzzing like a swarm of bees”

The pupils cheered on the competitors from their respective Grades. 40 pupils battled it out (10 PER Grade) to become Spelling Bee Champion by correctly spelling words such as ‘demystify’ and ‘parallel’, ‘municipality’ and many more difficult words. After a number of nail biting rounds, we finally had our Spelling Bee winner.

A resounding victory for Nothemba Larawu Grade 7! A fantastic effort was made by our Grade 4 learner Sphamandla Ndlovu (he was rather incredulous when he realised that he had indeed reached 2ND place.

Kgothatso Molaoa Grade 6 3rd place and Limbikani Kadango Grade 5 in 4th place.

All of the participants worked incredibly hard to prepare themselves for this spelling challenge and every competitor should be proud of this achievement. We also wish the learners who are participating in the Spelling Bee competition next week all the very best.
