Valentines Civvies Day 2023

20 February 2023
Valentines Day Lucky Draw winner

What a fabulous fun day the 14 February has been. Our first Valentine’s Day without masks in 4 years. Our learners were excited and the Pink, White and Red theme set the mood. Our day began with our learners and teachers looking incredible in their Valentine attire. Teaching and learning continued concurrently with the exciting entertainment programme being held in our hall.

The learners all thoroughly enjoyed their turn to experience the programme. Ma’am Saaliha and Ma’am Smit presented a thought provoking message on the value of friendship. So many truths to consider. We were reminded of how special and wonderful friendships are and also the importance of being a friend to others. “Things are never quite as scary when you’ve got a best friend” - Bill Watterson

In an exciting twist, dance was introduced as a way to form and strengthen friendships. What happened next took our breath away ... Ma’am Geraldine, Ma’am Beulah, Ma’am Bellon, Mr Thabede, Mr Ndlovu and Mr Mgobhozi wowed us when they took to the stage with a dance display. They really rocked it!

And then, learners got their chance to dance. Yeah! Following along to the dance moves on our amazing giant smartboard, new steps and moves were learnt. Our crew can definitely move it, and the joyful noise of our learners dancing in the hall could be heard from the other side of the school. Our children were reminded of the value of friendship through dance, they got to sing, dance and most importantly bonded with their friends and teachers.

The lucky draw was won by Audrey Mangumani- Wow, a lucky girl indeed!
