Graduation & Prize giving 2021

On a cloudy morning the staff of CityKidz set up for an event that would without a doubt be successful. The male teachers did all the heavy lifting while the female teachers gave their feminine touch to the décor and smaller details. With the hall and the Funky Factory set up, it was time to welcome our parents to our beautiful campus. After a beautiful and heart-warming introduction from our master of ceremonies, it was time to get the graduation ceremony started.

Each child was called by name to receive his or her certificate. What truly melted the hearts of each parent and teacher was watching each little boy or girl proceed down the aisle in his or her graduation gowns (with a little hat too!). It was truly wonderful to see each bundle of cloth walk towards the stage with a smile in their eyes. Each child gently took their certificates from their homeroom teacher and stood in their little allocated spots on stage. Naturally, each homeroom teacher was there to provide guidance should a little one get lost along the way. The morning was also blessed with performances from our little ones. Some singing and even dancing was performed in front of the parents.

Another thing that truly made the event shine was the cultural aspect brought by the parents themselves. This ceremony was far from somber and the children were met with cheers and ululating from proud moms and dads. Every child could clearly see where their parents were sitting when this happened, and this allowed any nerves the little ones had to dissipate. According to an old African proverb, it takes a village to raise a child. And when this child succeeds, it is a cause for celebration.

The CityKidz staff would love to thank the parents for coming out to support their children and for being a fantastic audience. It is truly heart-warming to see parents who are actively involved in the lives of their children. It is also important to thank the maintenance staff without whom this event would not have been possible. It was truly an event that will not be forgotten by parents and staff. Lastly, we would love to thank Sharon Reynolds, the principal of CityKidz, for attending the ceremony and giving a vote of thanks. Without our principal’s leadership, none of these school events would be possible.

May the rest of 2021 be a fruitful year and may your children continue to shine bright as they leap into 2022.
