CityKidz Learners Shine Bright at District Technology Olympiad. On July 29, 2025, learners from CityKidz Olympiad Technology team participated in the annual District Technology Olympiad. Keitumetse Mnisi, Sipheshle Hlatshwayo, and Nanette Chingono showcased exceptional skills, creativity, and teamwork during the competition.
These three learners excelled, securing first and second places and outperforming competitors from across the district. Keitumetse scored 28 marks. Sipheshle scored 27, and Nanette scored 23 out of a possible 30 marks. The event took place at Livingwood in Kingswood, Lenasia, and featured nine teams comprising a total of 41 learners from various clusters. The competition tested participants on a range of topics, including the Jaws of Life, engineering design, structures, general knowledge, and problem-solving Keitumetse and Sipheshle expressed immense pride in their achievements and are eager to compete at provincial level.
Their technology educator, Ms. P. Ndlovu, attributed their success to months of dedication and early morning preparation. “They gave it their all— mastering the concepts taught with a conscientious effort, and winning first and second places is well-deserved recognition of their hard work”. Congratulations to the girls for their outstanding performance! A huge thank you to the parents who worked behind the scenes to make the Olympiad a success.
