We are happy to welcome you to the 2017 school year! We hope that each of you spent some time with your relatives, had plenty of laughter and took a moment to reflect on those things that are most important to you.
Topic: Young inexperienced drivers are a major cause of road accidents.
Debating is the most convincing avenue to follow in order to develop one's intellectual capacity. Our learners enjoyed this, it was an exciting moment when the two teams locked-horns to fight a good fight in a debate. Charity Marape had this to say:
"I really enjoyed the debate, I wish we could do it everyday. It helps us with public speaking, thanks to our teachers for this time".
What a great opportunity we experienced as CityKidz teachers on the 12 of November 2016.we actively participated in a first Aid and training course.
A super Christmas party was arranged by Afhco on Tuesday 01 November.
Friday was filled with excitement. The Grade 7 learners had a chance to be young entrepreneurs. They enthusiastically prepared their goods and were on their feet busy selling most of the day. Some of them reflected that being at school is not so bad because working all day is very tiring.
On Saturday 29 October all staff attended a workshop at school. Our topic was “Discipline” we updated and refreshed our knowledge and entertained discussion around improving the discipline of our learners.
By creating houses from old boxes, our Grade 1's showed their creativity and "building"skills. They built model houses they would like to own one day!
CityKidz celebrated Heritage Day on 22 September 2016.
Spring has officially sprung!! Our Spring Civvies Day was celebrated by each child making a hat from recycled materials. The Grade 4's enjoyed parading their fabulous hats during the fashion show.
The Grade 4's enjoyed Spring Civvies day by demonstrating their creative and artistic abilities. They designed wonderful hats which showcased their artistic ability. If this talent is nurtured, we have great artists in the making. Hats off to you Grade 4 learners!!
