Creativity in Grade R

Monday, July 28, 2014

The years before primary school are vital for the establishment of a healthy, well rounded lifestyle that sets you onto the path of growth and development as you progress towards adulthood.  It is important to set a postive foundation for life-long learning during this time.

Playing is a natural part of the behaviour of children and it is the way in which they learn.  The experience of creating gives learner's a feeling of satisfaction and enhancers their feelings of self-worth.  Creative learner's are better at solving problems and are more able to be flexible and original in finding solutions.  They are also more likely to be able to think for themselves, allowing them to be more independent.

In Grade R, we can encourage the development of creativity through art, music, drama, movement, problem-solving activities, games, discussions and simply by the way we communicate with our learner's and respond to them.

The more fun learning is, the more motivated learner's are to learn!
