Animals Theme Week Grade R

Our Grade R learners learned to recognize and make sounds of various animals during their Animals Theme Week in Term. Together with their families, they made the most creative animal masks.

Each learner decided independently which was their favourite animal. Photos were taken and the learners were eager to roar, pounce, and pose for Ma'am Lisa (Grade RB). When our little learners interact with animals (pets/wild), they build an all-important sense of connection, empathy, and caring. The learners feel a sense of responsibility and tend to be curious to find out about the animal (or even bird, insect, or fish). The lion is a firm favorite amongst the CityKidz little learners. (They know not to get friendly with a lion!)

The Grade R learners are looking forward to the Rietvlei trip on Friday as they will have the opportunity to meet farm animals in a safe environment with their class teachers on hand. Grade R Team
