Life Skills Creative Arts Project

Products and processes - From a tree to paper.

The Grade 3s, class of 2021 decided to end the year in style. They took on the perfect project of paper weaving, to show case their growing talents in Arts and Crafts. After learning how paper is processed from trees, it was an awesome experience to discover how they can use paper in many creative ways.

They had fun learning how to weave using paper.  Using contrasting coloured paper showed their thinking and imaginative abilities to create all sorts of master pieces. The results were beautifully crafted items like: baskets, handbags, table mats, water creatures and even the rockets!

Different types of paper including magazines and newspaper was used as a way of emphasizing and reinforcing our lessons of re-using waste to protect our environment. This project was also a great way for children to learn coordination skills and neatness, as paper weaving requires paying attention to detail.

We are forever grateful to our ever-supportive parents, even after a tedious day, they come home with a smile, ready to assist our children to complete their projects. They are just a cut above the rest, Bravo!
