Mathematics

Mathematics continues to pause a challenge to a number of our learners. May be this has something to do with the stereotype that Mathematics is a difficult subject. Other learners seem to enjoy learning the subject and it is these same learners that do well in the subject. Since these learners are excited about the subject they continues to practice new concepts.

We continue to get support from parents who help supervise homework. We urge all our parents to check their children’s homework and try and assist where they can. Next year our intention is to from a Mathematics Club and try and cultivate interest in the subject among our learners. We will participate in the Mathematics Olympiads that are run by the District Education Office.

In Technology our learners continue to come up with interesting projects for their Practical Assessment Tasks. We have just worked on the models of Temporary Shelter for Refugees. Learners demonstrate that they have understood how to make structures, rigid, stiff and strong. We intend to enter our learners in the Technology Olympiad as well as well next year.
