Lesedi cultural village

Lesedi cultural village is a tourist village which celebrates the cultural traditions of several different people of Southern Africa. It reproduces traditional dwellings and offers demonstrations of dances and other cultural activities.

Our Grade 5 learners learnt about the 5 different cultures and their dances, which are: Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi, Sotho, and Ndebele. The most crucial lesson that was learnt by our learners was the way you greet people, the way you dress, the manner you present yourself to elders, and the food enjoyed by different cultures. They were also exposed to the different procedures of Lobola payments. Lobola ranges from 11-13 cows depending on the particular culture in which Lobola is paid to.

Our learners were extremely excited to learn about these cultural practices and had an opportunity to have demonstrations of topics learnt in History. This was a worthwhile, enjoyable school trip and invaluable lessons were learnt.

hanks to our HOD Mrs Vorster, Grade Leader Mr Nkomo, and teachers for this wonderful experience.
