Ziegler Fun Day and Soccer Tournament

We kicked off our “Ziegler Fun Day” with a match between CityKidz Male Teachers and the junior boys. It was a dramatic game and the boys played their hearts out.  The game was ably refereed by Ms Ndlovu,  it set the tone for an exciting morning of fun and soccer.

The kids had a wonderful time on the jumping castle and the sliding crocodile. Shrieks of delight filled the air as the children played and enjoyed their school fun day. Vet koek, boerewors, coleslaw and delicious mince were on sale. Judging by the looks on the customers’ faces the food was tasty and satisfying. In keeping with our Valentine theme, the teachers sold chocolates and other Valentine’s Day goodies.

Mr. Sean Moore from Ziegler addressed the spectators and expressed his joy that CityKidz was now the only school in the Inner City to boast its own soccer field. A wonderful feat and the kids and staff wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ziegler for this great addition to our school. The look of sheer pleasure on the kids’ faces says it all. Mr. Renney Plit from Afhco thanked Ziegler for their contribution as well as all the participants.  A special mention of thanks to Ziegler and Afhco staff members for spending their Saturday morning with our school, we really appreciate your participation and your contribution.

Despite the fact that these were fun and friendly matches, all the participants took the matches seriously and played their hearts out. A very big Thank you to our funders Afhco and to Ziegler once again for our Soccer Field. Moms and Dads you played brilliantly, as did Staff Members and of course our Senior and Junior kids. The final match of the day was between CityKidz Male Teachers and Afhco. It was a thrilling match and our Teachers managed to win with a score of 2-1.

The winner of our raffle Valentine Bear was Bonginkosi from Grade 3 A. Well done to Bongi and the two other raffle winners!
