Filming with the Stars

Several teachers were filmed for Shuter and Shooter Publishers in order to show teachers nationally how to use innovative and creative methodologies in unison with their textbooks and learner support material We are so thankful to Shuter’s Academy for choosing us and providing us with this wonderful opportunity.

Being in the spotlight is a very nerve-wrecking experience.

The not-knowing as to how I was going to react or how my little Gummibears were going to behave during the lesson was very daunting. When filming started everything was so overwhelming!

My heart was beating so fast...but I focused my attention on my babies. All I can say is that the experience was AWESOME!!

My Gummi’s were so well behaved. I  was so proud of the way they performed. Even with the glitz ,glamour and cameras, I felt comfortable knowing that my main priority is to serve my children in the best way possible.

Camera, Lights, Action was heard onMonday morning, a nerve wrecking moment for the teachers, as well as learners. Our time to shine was not only about being in the spotlight but a learning experience. My Maths lesson was on sharing. I used the textbooks and resources from what we salvaged from our dustbins, such as bottle tops for counters!

The Shuter and Shooter camera crew captured the whole experience and we are preparing a video series to help other teachers to improve their teaching skills

Mrs Yumna Khan-Grade 3A

I  had the opportunity to feel like a movie star on the 05/09/2016, my class was the supporting cast. It was an amazing experience to teach in front of a camera and know that our lessons will be used as examples for future teacher workshops. The children were so smart and came dressed for success in their uniforms. I was quite surprised to see that the class was not phased at all by the cameras when I presented my lesson.

They responded as if the cameras did not exist and the lesson went off without a hitch.
